Today’s Issues (Under construction)
Corvallis Watch is developing an archival library (which is under construction as well) so that the reader may compare past issues with new ones. Very often problems that all of us have experienced in the past bob to the top again and again. We need historical info to be readily available so that we can quickly act to put out the brush fire before the problem gets out of our control. A good example is the toxins that exist now on the Evanite property. These toxins were discovered nearly 30 years ago, and we all need to know what is being done about cleaning the mess up. Corvallis Watch has at its disposal a 30 year history of the TCE discovery and the very slow clean up process at Evanite. Read our Archive Directory when you have the time and get acquainted with the past so that you’ll be prepared for the future. We also have a good outline on how to take action... So hit Taking Action!
NOTICE: Our Corvallis Watch Website is under construction. We hope to have current materials presented before spring of 2012. We are working on our new format, which will express strategies and general news about strengthening community livability, etc. As ongoing sustainability programs gain new ground in our town we will be discussing criteria that will measure our achievements (assuming that there will be some!). For certain, the list for discussion will be in depth and we hope that our community will be heavily involved in participating in city improvements and dealing with “these” new challenges—how about understanding the limits of carrying capacities measured against “prosperity that fits” for example?
